Nonfiction Writing and Reading - November

Currently your third grader is writing about nonfiction during their Writer’s Workshop time and will soon be moving on to nonfiction in Reader’s Workshop. What an exciting genre! After all, who doesn’t like to read about real people, places and events? A great way to support your child would be to jump into some nonfiction reading at home. Research shows that reading remains one of the most important things an adult can do with their child. Sharing a nonfiction book will not only be informative, but a great way to encourage your child to be an active reader who makes predictions and asks lots of questions. So, go on and navigate your way through some nonfiction and widen your child’s view of the world. Enjoy!!
